I Jaja

I Jaja (she/they) is a British Nigerian fiction writer. Originally from London, she is now based in Scotland.

Jaja reads and writes across multiple styles and genres, with a particular fondness for magical realism and fairy tales. For inspiration, she looks to the works of Aimee Bender and Stephanie Barbé Hammer.

A fan of short fiction, Jaja publishes short stories and flash fiction on her website (see below). In addition to writing short fiction, Jaja is currently researching and planning her first novel.

In her first novel, Jaja hopes to write a nonbinary main character and explore different aspects of their gender identity. She also hopes to feature different Black British, British Nigerian and mixed-race characters.
